About rimoco+

What is rimoco+?
rimoco+ is a service that lets you control your home appliacnes remotely.
How do I start using rimoco+ app?
Install rimoco+ app from App Store or Play store (Goolgle Play).
*Search "rimoco plus".
*You need serial code printed on the base unit to use rimoco+.
*There is no charge for using the app, but you may be charged for for packet communication fees when downloading and installing the app.

Where can I use rimoco+?
rimoco+ can be used anywhere where there is stable internet connection.
Can I use rimoco+ outside Japan?
Yes. You can use rimoco+ outside Japan as long as you have internet access.
How is rimoco+ connected?
The app sends appliance commands to the server, those commands are sent to appliances via rimoco+ using wired or IR connection.
What would happen during power outage?
All appliances would be shut off and would not be controllable through rimoco+ until the power is back on.
Appliances will not automatically turn on after the power is back.
What is the difference from rimoco?
rimoco+ supports appliances controlled by IR remotes.
rimoco+ also has optional extension units to extend the range of coverage.

About supported devices

Is rimoco+ usable from all smart phones?
rimoco+ is available for both iPhone and Android.
*We recommend using the latest version of iOS or android.
Do I have to transfer the app data when switching devices?
It's not particularly necessary.
You can use it by logging in again on your new smartphone by following the on-screen instructions under "If you have an account."
You will also need to enter the registration code written on the main controller again.
Can I use rimoco+ on a tablet?
rimoco+ is intended to be used on a smart phone.
rimoco+ app may not be possible to install or work properly on a tablet.

About registration

I get an error when I open rimoco+ app.
Make sure that the device you are using is connected to the internet.
rimoco+ app does not work if the device is in airplane mode or has no internet access.
Is there a fee for using rimoco+?
There is no extra fee for using rimoco+.
*Communication charges will be borne by the customer.
Can I use rimoco+ without user registartion?
Use registration is mandatory for using rimoco+.
How do I register my family members?
Share user accounts can be registered after registering the main user.

I have not received an email for the authentication code.
Please check your email software's spam folder or other folder.
If you registered a mobile carrier's email address, please check your settings to make sure that the authentication email is not blocked.
Can I change the registered email address?
Yes. You can change your registered email address from the menu screen.
*Please be sure to register an email address that can receive emails.
I accidentally deleted the rimoco+ app?
You can download the rimoco+ app and can resume using it after logging in.
I forgot my password/email.
If you forgot your password, you can create a new one from "Forgot password?" menu accessible from the login screen
If you forgot your email address, please create a new account from "Create new account".
*Settings for IR appliances and scenarios would be reset.
Can I change user information of a registered user?
Yes. Open the menu and tap on the email address to edit user information.
Can I log in using multiple devices?
Yes. Please note that you will be logged out in all devices after you change your email address or password from one of the devices.
What are main users and share users?
Main user is a user registered using serial code.
There can only be one main user for the household.
Share users are users invited by the main user.

About appliances

How do I add appliances?
You can add appliances from button on the top right corner of home screen.

Are registered appliances shared with users in the same household?
Following settings are shared:
- appliances, scenarios, one-touch buttons, operation history, and extension unit
- Request to move out from room
Are original swithces and remotes usable after adding appliances to rimoco+?
Yes. Original switches, remotes, keys and other controller devices can be still be used.
Can I use appliances of all types and manufacturers through rimoco+?
rimoco+ supports HA appliances (non-removable) or appliances with IR remotes.

I cannot find types and manufactures of an appliance I would like to register.
Not all appliances are supported. There may be missing manufacturers or appliance types.
None of the number buttons work when trying to register an appliance.
Please check the following possible causes:
- The appliance's main power is off, the appliance is unplugged, the appliance does not support IR remote or the appliance is broken.
- The appliance you are trying register is different from the appliance you selected.
- There are problems with positioning of appliances and the IR remote (too far apart, blocked by obstacles, etc.)
Can I see or edit information of registered appliances?
Yes. Options to see information, change name, and delete appliance is accessible from kebab menu button on the appliance page.

Does removing an appliance remove it from shared users' account as well?
Yes, it does.
What are differences between appliances registered from the start and appliances added later.
Appliances registered from the beginning are HA appliances wired to rimoco+ base unit and their ON/OFF operation and checking of their status are possible through the app.
Appliances added later are controlled by sending IR signals from the base unit or extension units.
From the app, status checking for these appliances is not possible, but control options beyond just ON/OFF (like regular remotes) are available.

About operating appliances

Appliances are not responding
Try the following:
- Remove any obstacles between base units or extension units and appliances
Appliances' state does not change
Try the following:
- Tap the update button on the top right corner of home screen
- Relaunch the app
Is it possible to run commands other than ON/OFF like regular remotes?
Only ON/OFF operations are available for HA appliances. Other operations are available for registered IR appliances.
How do I rearrange appliance icons?
Icons can be rearranged after long press.
Are time-based operations executed even when my phone is off?
Yes. Time-based operations are not affected by the state of your device.
I would like to delete one-touch button (circular icon).
You can enter one-touch button's menu and tap edit to find the delete button.

About extension units

How to link with extension unit?
Tap "extension unit" in the menu and press ⊕ button.
Serial code or QR code printed on the extension unit is necessary for setup.

Extension unit is not linking.
Base unit and extension unit may fail to link if they are too far apart.
In addition, the connection may become unstable due to radio interference in the presence of strong electromagnetic wave (such as a microwave).
Please move the extension to a different part of the room and try again.
Can I place extension unit in the bedroom?
Because extension units are linked to base unit via BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), obstacles may intefer with their connections.
We advise you to place extension units in the same room as the base unit.
How long does extension unit's battery last?
The battery for extension unit lasts around 1.5 years.
Battery status is displayed in the extention unit menu
I would like to delete paired extension unit
Extension unit cannot be unregistered after pairing

About account cancelation

I am moving out and will no longer be using rimoco+

Base unit is not removable
Please leave extension units in the room as they must be paired with base unit for future use.

How do I link rimoco+ to smart speakers?
What are notifcations?
Notifications will be sent when a device with execution
reservations or scenario(*) settings is activated.
*You can check it in "Execution reservation" on the timeline screen.
How do I disable notifications?
From "Settings", toggle "Notificaiton" OFF.
Scenario notification can be disabled from each scenario's edit screen by toggling "Enable scenario notificaiton"
You can also disable all notifications from rimoco+ by disabling notificaitons from the device's setting.
I am not receiving notifications.
Check your smart phone's notification settings
You also need to enable notification from the app' setting
Scenario notifications can be enabled from their edit screens.
